CHIQUES ROCK. 67 PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD GLEN HOUSE (WHITE MOUNTAINS), N. this point, at the eastern base of , an uninterrupted view is obtainedof the five great Presidential peaks : Mt. Wash-ington (6293 feet), Mt. Clay (5400 feet), (5700 feet), Mt. Adams (5S00 feet),and Mt. Madison (5361 feet). A fine carriageroad leads to the summit of Mt. Washington,and is still a favorite route in spite of the open-ing of the railroad on the west side. Thevicinity of the Glen House is crowded withobjects of interest, which can only be brieflyenumerated here : Thompsons Falls, CrystalCascade (eighty feet), Glen Ellis Falls, andTuckermatfs Ravine^ a tremendous fissure onthe south side of Mt.
