Statue in niche on the Cromwell Road front exterior of the Victoria and Albert Museum (V & A), of William Hogarth, painter, by Reuben Sheppard


It has been suggested that this statue is in fact a representation of Sir Joshua Reynolds, and was erected on the wrong plinth by mistake; the figure is holding a painter's palette, while the figure of Reynolds holds an engraver's plate
