Besides which, there were many unbaptized menand women who had for years been most regular in their attend-ance at church, had been hearers of the Word, and yet had notmade up their minds to be Christians. We therefore decided tohold a series of special Mission services in the cathedral with theobject, if possible, of bringing these latter to a decision, and ofenabling the lukewarm Christians to realize how far below theirprivileges they were living. Special preparation was made by weeks of prayer, and when,on Sundaj^ March 4, 1906, the vast crowds came together tolisten to the message of the Gospel, it was with a spirit of expecta-tion and of hope.
