Clark, of the Williams & Clark Floral Co., is in an Indianapolis hospital, where she underwent an operation recently. Miss Euth Covault, of Miller's Flower Shop, is spending her vacation in north- ern Michigan. Miss M. Coffin has re- turned from a week's vacation. Miller's Greenhouse, on Kilgore avenue, has a fine showing of mums. !Boses are breaking in good shape, after their summer rest. M. F. NEW BEDFORD, MASS. The Market. The continued hot weather has made business poor; there is little call for cut flowers and funeral work is about all there is. Gladioli and asters are of good quality and bring fair prices, gla- dioli selling at $5 per hundred and asters at $1 to $3. Roses are scarce and of little substance. There is scarcely any call for other flowers, though there are plenty of calendulas, coreopsis, snapdragons, etc. Various Notes. Peter Murray, of Fairhaven, has an unusually large force of men on outdoor work. Mr. Murray had a large wed- ding decoration last week that called for practically all his palms and bay trees, besides a great many flowers. William P. Peirce is building a large addition to his office on Elm street. His new greenhouse is about completed and ready for planting. Edward M. Peirce, of Cottag
