It pulls clean from the ground, and with its thin, snow- white skin, looks almost as at- tractive • as would a basket of huge eggs. It is a first-rate keeper for winter use. An American Ruta-baga, earlier and rounder than any other of the Sweet Ger- man, Improved white French, Rock or Rus- sian turnips, all of which names are given, in different locali- ties, to the various strains of white Ruta-baga. Mr. Budlong, probably the most extensive raiser of Ruta-bagas in New England, has, by years of careful selection, produced this ex- cellent strain.
