In preparation for an upcoming deployment, Sonar Technician Petty Officer 1st Class John O’Dell evaluates the readiness of the SeaRAM ship defense system aboard USS Kansas City (LCS 22) under the watchful eye of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division subject matter expert Vince Stroud during a Combat Systems Assessment Team event at the warfare center recently. The SeaRAM system defends against supersonic and subsonic threats, including cruise missiles, drones and helicopters.
