Brooks conducted thestore at Portersville. The tradition is that the Brooks boughttheir goods *on east, i. e., Cincinnati. Its history cov-ered two years. It is now a ploughed field. Springlle Vvassituated on Pleasant Run, on the line between lots 94 and 115in Clarks Grant. It was a short distance from Charles-town.
