Mongolia: Manduul Khan, Khagan of the Northern Yuan Dynasty (r. 1475-1478), 20th century. Manduul Khan (Manduuluu, Manduyul or Manduyulun) (1438–1478), was a Mongol khan of the Northern Yuan Dynasty in Mongolia, the younger half-brother of Tayisung Khan Toghtoa Bukha. He became khagan in 1475 after the position had been vacant for nearly a decade as the clans fought each other for dominance. His reign was short, but it led to a strengthening of the the khagan's power and a reduction in the influence of the Mongol nobles, paving the way for his successor and adopted son Dayan Khan.
