This set was purchased in February, 1909, and is em-ployed for testing the old and new car equipments and, beingmounted in a car with other testing apparatus, can easily betaken from depot to depot. The usual electrical tests of cir-cuits, controllers, motors, armatures, fields and resistances,etc., can be made with it. Since this car has been in service it has thoroughly tested2300 cars. The transpor-tation department uses this car to show motormen the speedsat which they run and by measuring the distance, the lengths inwhich stops can be made when running at various speeds.
