De Quervain syndrome treatment. Patient receiving a corticosteroid injection to treat De Quervain syndrome. De Quervain's syndrome, or stenosing tenosynovitis, is a painful inflammation of the tendons on the inside of the wrist. It causes pain and can restrict the movement of the thumb. Treatment is with anti-inflammatory drugs (as here) and in some cases surgery.
