A Class 66 diesel locomotive with a train of stone waggons, being loaded at Arcow Quarry, Helwith Bridge, North Yorkshire. The quarry is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the railway connection to the Settle-Carlisle main line was reinstated in recent years, having been removed in the 1960s when road transport took over. Reinstatement of the rail siding is an environmental measure to reduce the amount of heavy quarry lorries on the local roads. The Class 66 diesel locomotive shown is No. 66773, 'Pride of GB Railfreight'. The picture also shows tree planting around the new rail entrance.
