This varie- ty grows to a remarkable size. Bulbs are of at- tractive form, flattened, but thick through. Single bulbs often attain weight of from 2^2 to 4 lbs., each. The skin is a beautiful silvery white; the flesh is snow-white, and a particularly mild and pleasant flavor. It matures early and is uniformly large and perfect form. Notwithstanding the enor- mous size attained by specimens of this variety, they maintain their perfect shape and fine quality. The skin is thin and of a ieddish-brown color; the flesh is pure white, very fine grained, and remark- ably mild and pleasant to the taste. Specimens have been exhibited weighing over five pounds.
