Abigail A. Cornelison was first married toJacob Cornelison, who was for some yearsproprietor of the hotel known as the White.^wan. He was the son of the Jacob Cor-nelison, who in 1820 purchased the ground onwhich the City Hotel is now situated, andten years later erected a building in which heconducted a fine hotel. This establishmentbecame well known throughout that sectionas the White Swan, and the sign which hungover the door was appropriately an artisticallypainted white swan. He continued at the headof this establishment until 1852, when his son,Jacob, succeeded him as proprietor. The lat-ter conducted the business with success un-til his death in 1865. at the age of thirty-fiveyears. The building was large and substan-tial. In 1872 it was purchased by AdamGeringer, who erected the present structureknown as the Mrs. Cornelison married for her secondhusband, June 7, 1865, George F. Geisinger,who was born in Hingham. Mass., in Birthplace of Mrs. Georue F. Geisinger, Dawille, Pa.
