A giant scone believed to be the biggest in the world has been baked by a small family bakery in the Westcountry The monster which weighed more than 110 Ib and measured 3 ft in diameter beats the previous record by 1ft set by the Hallett family in South Devon Mary Nick and Amy Lovering of Sandford s bakery in Torrington Devon used a whopping 56 Ib flour 56 eggs 14 Ib fat 20 pints of milk 7Ib sugar 3Ib baking powder 35Ib clotted cream and 12Ib strawberry jam to create the monster with fellow baker Simon Clarke The stunt was done to help a Love My Devon campaign and to promote traditional foods of the South West Pictured are bakers Nick Lovering and Simon Clarke with their giant scone
