Cathy Wood is the author of the book the Loss of the Criccieth Castle, which records the adventures of Catherine Thomas who traveled on her husband's ship in the early 1900s. On 15th July 1912, the ship sank in a mid winter South Atlantic storm. For the next 8 days the ship's company endured terrible suffering in open boats before some were saved by landfall on the Falkland Islands.
