This lady is 76 years of age and is still as active as ever and busier than most people. The quality of Mrs. Houson 's blossoms is so well known that she has never enough of it, or at least never too much, and happy is the retailer who gets ins supply regularly. Andrew Bruce, of the staff of the Alexander Florist, has been suffering from blood poisoning contracted through the lead of an indelible pencil. It seems to have been a particularly stubborn case and has laid him up for a good while. A fine decoration at the Ambassador hotel last week kept this store busy. The ballroom was beauti- fully done in stnilax and a])ring blos- soms. Chicago to the city were in full force last week. A. Miller, of the American Bulb Co., W. J. Smyth and Philip J. Foley were noted. The ]\Ias-Art baskets of Walter Arma- cost & Co. have jiroved a marked success already. This firm has made arrange- ments so that local buyers can obtain these baskets at exactly the same price as they sell at wholesale at the factory, thus making a saving both of express and jiacking. A fine crop of roses is coming in and the growers are going to be right on time for Piaster. C. Groen, of Mmitebcllo, says that his trade in small plants is growing rajjidly and becoming a most important part of the business. W.
