Size large; color dark purple ; flesh firm and excellent quality. Vig. First of September. V Smith's Orleans. Large size ; reddish purple ; flesh firm and juicy with a rich fine flavor ; produc. tive. Free. September. \ Shropshire Damson. A plum of fine quality, as free from the attacks of the curculio as the Com mon Damson, and of the same color. The flesh is amber colored, juicy and sprighth'. In mar- ket it has commanded nearly double the price of the Common Damson, and is enormously productive. Free. Last of September. Wasliington.
