As a result, the supply in the market is running short of actual needs. Practically everything is sell- ing readily. Gladioli alone are plen- tiful and make up the bulk of the of- ferings. Easter lilies are fairly plen- tiful and have been selling nicely. As- ters are very scarce. The late crop has been exceptionally slow. Roses may be had in limited quantities. Some dahlias are now coming in regularly. Other offerings include rubrum lilies, hardy hydrangea and cosmos. Smilax is very scarce'. NOTES. A'l. Horning has returned to this city after a fortnight spent with his folks in Toledo, Ohio. Peter Herb, of Mt. "Wealthy, O., is cutting some excellent Maman Cochet roses. Eddie Schwarz and wife are spend- ing two weeks at the lakes. C. E. Critchell has returned from his trip up state. Visitors: Miss D. E. Ruch, Shreve- port, La.; Milton Alexander, New York; Julius Dillofe, New York, and Ross E. Adgate, Pittsburg, Pa. Washington, D. C. PASSING OF SUMMEE WELCOMED. Summer is about over and the local trade are thankful. At present stock is not plentiful. Asters the past week have been scarce, as have gladioli. Roses are getting a little better both in stem and color, and a few good carnations have been seen in some of the stores. NOTES. The garage of the Washington Floral Co. was entered on August 24 and the cars stripped of tires and tools.
