A sabre for an officer, of the Prussian Navy. Slightly curved blade with fullers. Both obverse and reverse sides bear etched maritime themes, somewhat worn by cleaning. Brass hilt shows a fouled anchor. The folding guard plate on the reverse side bears the owner's name "v. Pogrell". Bone grip cover wound with copper wire. Leather scabbard with brass mountings. Locket has an old repair. Length 91 cm.
