AsaKeyes, of Brattleboro, and then engaged in the newspaperbusiness, being editor of the Vermont Phoenix for a while,and, for several years, of the Semi-Weekly Eagle. In thespring of 1851 he went to Utah as the first secretary of thatTerritory, Brigham Young being at that time governor of thesame. He soon came in collision, however, with Young andhis saints, respedting the discharge of his official result was, that Mr. Harris finally refused to disburse themoney placed in his hands by the Government, for the benefit.
