Peace Statue memorial remembers the suffering of ‘comfort’ women during WWll, Unionplatz, Moabit, Mitte, Berlin During WWll the Japanese military abducted women and forced them into sexual slavery. The statue remembers the suffering of these so-called ‘comfort women’ and commemorates those who exposed this in 1991 to prevent the reptation of such war time crimes worldwide. The Peace Statue is situated 110 meters southeast of Unionplatz.
