This species, to which the English name of Reddish- grey Bat has been applied, from its prevailing colour, was first described by Kuhl, and named by him after our friend Dr. Natterer, the celebrated Austrian Natu- ralist. In this country it appears to be of not unfre- quent occurrence, though certainly local in its distri- bution.
