When the injury to the tree is serious the fallen leaves may be raked up and burned in the autumn to restrict the develop- ment of the moth the following season. 5. The Cigar Case-Bearer. (ColcopJwra flctcJierclla.) The caterpillars infest mainly the leaves, but in the spring they may also be found on the buds and the young fruits. The full grown caterpillar is reddish orange and averages 1-5 of an inch in length. The case, as it is made in the fall, is a minute flattened curved structure composed of portions of the upper.
