Urediospores white in mass, on very short pedicels, ellipsoid, obovoid, or fusoid, 24 —46 X 8 —13iu (on an average, 31 X lOju ), mucronate, narrowly conical at apex and broad at the base, 0—22/u long (on an average, 12 ju); spore wall thin, less than 1/u, smooth, except for a few flat verru- cules; in many spores lateral walls considerably thickened, up to 3/Li. Secondary uredia develop later than the primary ones and resemble them but open late.
