Kathmandu, Nepal - Sep 9, 2022 : Indra Jatra is one of the main festivals of newar communities in Kathmandu. Indra, the god of rain and harvest , is worshipped in this festival. The eight day long festival starts with the erection of a wooden pole infront of the Hanuman Dhoka, this festival various traditional dances are shown. Chariot of Goddess Kumari, Lord Ganesh and Lord Bhairav are pulled through the older city area of the Kathmandu.
