Georgi Markov was assassinated on a London street via a micro-engineered pellet containing ricin, fired into his leg from an umbrella wielded by someone associated with the Bulgarian secret police. It has been speculated that they asked the KGB for help. Photographs taken on an organised press facility visit with permissions to the forensic department in Lambeth London. Exhibits shown were used by visiting police from the UK and overseas to evaluate the forensic work done by Scotland Yards Forensic investigations team on major criminal cases. The exhibits are now housed in Scotland Yard and not open to the public.
