Itwas discovered in 1837, and introduced to England two years later. Itsucceeds admirably in this country, especially where the soil is of a limynature. It is, perhaps, the most distinct and unmistakable of all the firs,especially in the short, blunt leaves being set about equally all round thebranchlet. A very handsome and striking tree.
