The latest of these is the election to the honour of Corre- sponding Member of the Zoological Society of London () Mr. Barrett recently relinquished office as president of the Bird Observers' Club, of which he was one of the founders. The Council of the Royal Australasian Ornithologists' Union wishes Mr. Barrett a safe return and a long life to continue his successful work in adding to our knowledge of the Australian fauna and developing the appreciation of this amongst young Aus- Nest and Eggs of Red-throated Whistler (Pachycephala riifogularis).
