ENGINE COMPANY NO. 16. Engine No. 16 is located at 1009 Ten-nessee street, near the Union IronWorks. It comprises eight men. Thecaptain is C. J. Hogan, who is a nativeson, and was born March 10, 1872. Hefirst joined the department as a memberof Engine No. 3 on July i, 1896, andwas promoted foreman of his presentcompany on May i, 1899. In January,1900, he was appointed captain.
