Each Labor Day, millions of Brooklynites and New Yorkers line Eastern parkway, in Brooklyn, to watch The West Indian Day Parade which marked its 45th anniversary in 2012. The parade is the culmination of a week-end of special events which include a Caribbean Kiddies Day parade on Saturday, a Dimanche Gras (Fat Tuesday) celebration, an early Monday morning J'Ouvert parade, and a celebration of steel drums. Two boys watch the Caribbean Kiddies Day parade. The boy on the right is waving Guyanese flags.
