What emotions of gratitude andpraise filled my heart as I looked into the earnest andattractive face of Mr. Yuan, now one of our col-porteurs, but four years ago, at the time of our firstvisit to the Sacred Mountain, a priest in one ofthe largest temples there! Mr. Smith was obliged to return directly fromthe Bible school to America, but I stayed on for someweeks to visit our workers on the boats. Keller, Chinas Millions 57 afternoon while the men were out at their about five oclock they returned, from various di-rections with empty book bags, dusty shoes andclothing, and tired but happy faces. There was agreat brushing and splashing, and then came supper,and after supper the evening meeting for Bible studyand prayer. What an hour that was! After a briefdevotional season they took up their evening chapterin Isaiah. The first man read the first section of thechapter and briefly discussed it, the second man fol-lowed with the next section, and so on until the chap-ter was finished. Then Mr. Cheng, the leader, aroseand in a truly remarkable way summed up the even-ings work, and gave the results of his own carefulstudy of the chapter.
