Here we see one of the most famous buildings in the heart of Oxford- the world famous Bodleian Library of the University of Oxford. Dating back - in part - to the 14th Century, it is one of the oldest centres of scholarship and leaning in Europe. With over 12 million items, it is the second biggest library in Britain after the British Library. Early on a winter morning, we can see here the distinctive shadow of the dome of the Radcliffe was designed by James Gibbs in neoclassical style and built in 1737-1749 to house the Radcliffe Science Library. It is also part of the Bodleian Library.
