The Beachcomber Cafe, on the sea front at Teignmouth, Devon, UK, was closed several years ago following a Bonfire Night fire engulfing the kitchen and eventually the whole building. As restoration started, asbestos was discovered and refurbishment ceased. A combination of a high lease cost plus extortionate business rates has seen it remain unoccupied.
