The discoverers called the first theLower Peach Tree, the second, the UpperPeach Tree. The site of the Lower PeachTree is perpetuated in the name of the Ameri-can village, Lower Peach Tree. The Tree retained its name until about1835, when the landing was purchased byGeorge F. Watson, Leon Ratcliffee, and H. who changed the name to Clifton,which it still retains.
