Field of empty chairs at the Oklahoma City National Memorial
In winter the grass field loses most of its color and the monument becomes more stark and feels much quieter. Each glass, bronze, and stone chair represents one of the 168 victims of the April 19, 1995 bombing. The chairs symbolize the empty chairs at the dinner tables of the victims' families.
