A grade Swiss, of three-fourths pure blood oi" better, or a pure bred doe, will usually rim three to four quarts when fresh, maintain three quarts for four or five months, two quarts until the eighth month, when they are usu- ally bred, and after breeding continue to milk for about three months with a gi-adually diminishing flow.
