Picture by Roger Bamber 9 July 2004 Kate Metcalf and Abby Hone celebrate signing the Pink register at Brighton Town Hall at the launch of the UK s first Pink Wedding waiting list , The Wedding list encouraged gay couples to show support for government proposals offering legal status for same sex couples under the Civil Partnership Bill. Those on the list were eventually among the first to be able to officially marry as civil partners in the UK.
