It appears that maskinonge can be read-ily caught quite close to the rocky shoresat this time of the year, whether theycome there to spawn, or for some otherpurpose. This fact was only learned re-cently at Rice Lake by the white fisher-men, although the Indians appear to haveknown it long before.
