Controversial removal of an original section of wall to allow access to a major building site.
In this picture the section on the right was recently and quite controversially removed during the night to make access for large building work taking place in the area of the East Side Gallery. This caused some consternation amongst the locals who felt they had won a legal argument for the wall to remain untouched. It is alleged the section of the wall removed will be returned to its original location
