A "double" statue of an old athlete and a young athlete at the Panathenaic stadium, also known as "Kallimarmarmaro", Athens

A "double" statue of an old athlete and a young athlete at the Panathenaic stadium. The old athlete remembers with nostalgia the times he was competing, and the young athlete is looking forward for his time to come to compete. The Panathenaic or "Panathinaiko" is the stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times took place in 1896. It has been there, in different form, since the ancient years. Since it was fully "covered" with famous pentelic marble, it took the "nickname" Kallimarmaron", which means "beautifully marbled". It was also used during the Athens Olympic Games of 2004 and is the finish-line of the classical Marathon.
