This is an active stellar nursery where young stars are being born from clouds of dust and gas (green and red). NGC 2467 is a young star cluster, only a few million years old. The region is also called the Skull and Crossbones, as some resemblance to a skull is seen. This region is located in the constellation Puppis. This image was obtained with the WFI camera on the ESO telescope at La Silla in Chile. Six different filters were used to produce the image.
