The Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08) returned to Portsmouth, UK on the 4th December 2019 following it's participation in the Westlant19 deployment to the United States. The ship conducted highly successful flight trials with both UK and US based F-35B Lightning II aircraft and made a number of port visits to support UK diplomacy and defence co-operation. On entering the harbour the ship passed her sister HMS Prince of Wales, the first time the ship's had met in their base port.
