Sergeant Cary S. Gross, drill instructor, Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, performs push-ups with recruits at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, May 8. The recruits performed multiple exercises such as squats, push-ups, burpees, and 400 meter sprints during their physical training session to maintain physical endurance. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Charlie Company is scheduled to graduate July 27.
