Botany manuscript. Handwritten Latin note relating to the volume 'Icones fruticum et arborum Luzonis' by the Jesuit botanist Georg Jospeh Camel (1661-1706). This work illustrated fruits and trees and other plants that Camel had collected over many years living in the Philippines (Luzonis). Camel's remote location meant he faced difficulties publishing his work. The note states that this particular work was sent in two volumes, one in 1700 to Willem Ten Rhijne of Batavia, and one in 1701 to James Petiver of the Royal Society in London. The volumes were eventually published in 1704.
