Hogbacks west of the Big Thompson Canyon on US Highway 34 in Colorado.
Returning west on Highway 34 from the Big Thompson Canyon from photographing some of the destruction caused by recent flooding, I rounded a bend in the road and came upon one of my favorite views. The front range hogbacks seen along the highway were directly ahead and the trees at their base had just begun to turn yellow. I had tried to catch this transformation in past years, but the trees never looked quite right.
