Landing Craft Air Cushion
PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 20, 2017) A landing craft, air cushion (LCAC), assigned to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5, approaches the well deck of the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23) during Dawn Blitz 2017. Dawn Blitz is a scenario-driven amphibious exercise conducted between Expeditionary Strike Group 3 and 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade, testing their ability to conduct amphibious operations in response to global crisis and project power ashore as part of a Navy-Marine Corps team.
