But the glass is costly and it isfragile, and, moreover, it is somewhat dazzling andcannot conveniently be put out of the way whennot,required. DESKS, AND SEATING OF SCHOLARS. Eulenburg says that 90 per cent,of curvatures of spine, not induced by localdisease, are developed during school life, and ina school at Neuchatel among 381 girls, 156 werefound to have more or less deviation of the spinalcolumn. The manner in which the spine becomesdistorted is illustrated in the photograph {Fig. 6),of two boys who sat purposely in a bad positionwriting at a table too high for them.
