Snow covered strato-volcano Ruapehu is New Zealand's most active volcano with a most recent eruption in September 2007. It is one of the three active volcanos in Tongariro national park. With 2797 meter it is also the highest peak on New Zealand's north island. Lower Tama Lake is a crater lake at 1240 meters. Der schneebedeckte Stratovulkan Ruapehu is der unruhigste Vulkan Neuseeland, der im September 2007 zum bisher letzten Mal ausgebrochen ist. Er ist einer von drei aktiven Vulkanen im Tongariro Nationalpark und mit 2797 Meter der höchste Berg der Nordinsel Neuseelands. Der untere Tama-See ist ein Kratersee in einer Höhe von 1240 Metern.
