Pictures of boatsrocking on the waves were found paintedon the walls of the temple, and amongthe sand dunes there were several tracesof gardens. Truncated stems of the or-dinary poplars still stood in rows, mark-ing the direction of ancient were indications wanting that hereapricot and plum trees had formerlylived and thrived, The city had, indeed,it is conjectured, stood at one time on U) Plan Qf the.
