RED SEA (Nov. 9, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Samuel Hitchler, from Lock Haven, Pa., a member of the visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) team of the guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87), prepares to conduct small boat operations. Mason, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 5th Fleet area of operations.
